A new study in Greece has revealed that most people consider flirting effective if a partner has at least one of these 40 features, and of course, as much as possible.
The first part of any successful human relationship is (in most cases), flirtation: the attempt to attract attention, to look attractive and to be liked by the other partner they are interested in. There are no clear rules to this, but the conventions usually include making eye contact, distributing compliments, asking questions and expressing interest.
But the art of flirting is probably much more complex, and new research reveals just how much.
Two Greek scientists named Menelaus Apostolo and Christophorus Christophoro conducted a new study to find the features that make the flirtation effective. The results of the study, published in Personality and Individual Differences magazine, stated that there are more than 40 essential key features that are considered essential for the success of flirting.
In the second part of the study, 808 other participants were asked to rate how effective these features were. The researchers divided the traits into nine general categories, including “good nonverbal behavior”, “intelligence” and “gentle attitude” – these three traits were rated as important. The rest are “good looks”, “courage and determination”, “cheerfulness”, “mysterious”, “similar characteristics” and “strong interest and romance”.
The researchers also found significant differences between the preferences of both sexes. Women, for example, rated a gentler approach as more effective for them, while men revealed that a good appearance was more significant. Here are all the features, in no particular importance:
|Good looks||Nice smile||Tenderness|
|Demonstrated increased interest in Partner||Similar character traits||Directly|
|Good verbal ability||Courage||Intense look|
|Good character||Magic||He / she has no problem spending money|
|Dresses well||He / she has an interest in learning about me||Positivity|
|The way he / she looks at me||Gaiety||Maturity|
|Smells good||Seriousness||He / she does not progress too fast|
